The Oobleck Lab was my first lab, an intro to the kind of work we will be doing in chemistry. My groups experiment turned out well, we mixed the corn starch to water in a bowl and we made a good mixture. Some observations I made was when you reduced pressure on the oobleck you had a liquid, but when you applied pressure it became a rubbery solid. What I think happened on a molecular level was that when you pressured it the matter couldn't move, but when you didn't it moved.
My group got a desirable result the way I contributed was by helping put in the right amount of water and taking pictures. My group worked together well with each other and if there was one thing I could change I would add less water. I learned about lab safety and basic protocols. I believe that oobleck is a liquid because the corn starch mixed with the water just makes it more dense and the water absorbs it. I believe that when you apply pressure you are turning into a solid though, but it is a liquid because only when you apply unnatural pressure it becomes a solid. Through my experience through this lab I enjoyed mixing the oobleck and playing with it because the texture was so interesting. WHat I disliked about the lab was that it was so messy
